What is Anga Shuddi?

I think that anga shuddi is when the mudras are perfect and the adavus are perfect, when there is great rythum. Anga shuddi to me means a dance which has everything done perfectly. It's also the mastery of adavus!

Namaste Renu didi,

I think Anga shuddi is based on the lines, mudras, and clearness of an adavu. I Looked it up and it wasn't easy to find a lot about it but I was able to find out that anga shuddhi is all about adavus, the posture, the technique, the preciseness. I would say it would be called a flawless adavu.

sorry for my late reply,

anga shuddhi has to do with the precision of a dance item and how it is presented. the lines, perfection and strength of the mudras and feet all show good anga shuddhi. by paying attention to this, we can also achieve good posture and perfect balance. i read that, like anything else, if taught at a young age, it would be easier to learn more difficult items later, and im sure they would also look so much more graceful.

Hello Renu didi,
I apologize for the late post up, I had written it on paper beforehand.

Anga shuddhi is the perfection of the limbs' movements, which includes proper placement, timing, speed, and body lines of the limbs. It is the overall precision and proper movement of the arms and legs. Therefore, I would believe it to represent, good training, posture, and basics for any movement.

Anga ("limb"): a fundamental category of the yogic path, such as asana, dharana, dhyana, niyama, pranayama, pratyahara, samadhi, yama; also the body (deha, sharira)
Shuddhi ("purification/purity"): the state of purity; a synonym of shodhana.
Anga : any of several taaLa movements in Karnatic music
Anga shuddi for a dancer : Physically maintaining the purity of the taaLa (beat ) with the entire body including the feet.
